Naoki Konishi: The Hanged Man

Naoki Konishi represents the Hanged Man arcana in Persona 4.

Naoki is the younger brother of Saki Konishi, Yosuke’s crush and the second victim to die from the killer. His sister’s death casts a huge shadow over his life, with his every movement becoming the talk of the town. Naoki is struggling not only to heal from losing his sister, but to find someone who treats him normally and doesn’t bombard him with pity. In his social link, you’ll help him find happy moments in spite of everything that’s happened and stand up to the town gossips when they don’t think he’s grieving enough.

Tips

• To start Naoki’s social link, wait until June 8th. Naoki will be at school on the first floor of the classroom building. Keep talking to him every day and eventually a bond will form between you.
• Naoki is available Monday through Thursday, but not on rainy days. He’ll be on the first floor of the classroom building when school is in session, and when it’s not you can find him near his family’s liquor store in the Shopping District.
• Bring a Hanged Man persona with you to level up the social link faster.

• When Naoki says, “I usually eat here a lot because it’s so close to our place, but for some reason, I haven’t eaten here recently.”, ask him if he’s “Tired of the food?” for +3 friendship.
• When he asks, “I mean… what exactly is an ‘admirable life’ anyway?” answer with “Making your parents happy.” for +3 friendship.

• When it says, “Naoki is laughing like he’s having a good time.”, “Ask him to tell another story.” for +3 friendship.
• When “Naoki is biting his lip…”, ask him “You’re not saying anything?” for +3 friendship.

• When “Naoki looks distressed…”, you have two options with different requirements.
  • “Talk back to the lady,” for +3 friendship (Level 4 Courage required)
  • “Flatter the lady.” for +3 friendship (Level 4 Expression required)
• When Naoki says, “I’m sorry… it’s a little awkward to be around me, huh?”, tell him “It’s not your fault.” for +3 friendship.

• When Naoki says (well, doesn’t say) “……”, say “That’s a good idea.” for +3 friendship.
• When he says “…I have to do it.”, respond with any answer.

• When Naoki says, “They got all suspicious of me suddenly. I wasn’t expecting that at all.”, choose any answer.
• When he asks, “Am I really that pitiable…?”, tell him “You’re not the only one.” or “I know what they mean.” for +3 friendship.

• When Naoki says, “I wanted to apologize for that.”, answer with “I don’t mind.” for +3 friendship.

• When Naoki says, “Ironic, isn’t it?”, pick either choice.
• When he says, “Yosuke-san sure is nosy. Oh wait, so are you…”, reply “We can’t just ignore you.” for +3 friendship.

• When Naoki says, “Because I wasn’t able to cry like the actors on TV, I thought that maybe I didn’t actually like sis…”, say “That’s not true.” for +3 friendship.
• When he asks, “She must’ve wanted to live more, huh?”, pick any answer.
• When it says, “Naoki is biting his lip…”, you have two choices.
  • “Just let it all out, Naoki.” gives +3 friendship (Level 5 Understanding needed)
  • “She can hear you.” gives +3 friendship.

• When Naoki says, “It’s all thanks to you.”, respond with “I didn’t do anything.” for +3 friendship.
