Marie: Aeon

Marie is exclusive to the Golden version of the game, and represents the Aeon arcana.

Marie is a mysterious girl traveling with Igor and Margaret in the Velvet Room. She has no memories from before that. Although she puts on an antisocial front and can be very blunt, Marie has a secret fondness for writing poetry to express her true feelings. Marie longs to know more about the world outside of the Velvet Room, and by spending days out with you she hopes to regain her memories, as well as understanding modern things such as electrical outlets and reality TV.

Tips

• Marie is allowed out of the Velvet Room on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, but not on rainy days. Her social link can be started on April 18th. Go into the Velvet Room, click Check on Dwellers, then listen to Marie’s request. Marie is usually only available when you’re not actively working on an investigation.
• Maxing out Marie’s social link unlocks a bonus dungeon that is crucial to getting the true ending of the game. You will not be able to progress past level 4 of Marie’s social link until July 24, and the last day you can max it out on is December 23rd.
• You will need to spend an additional day with Marie between ranks 5 and 6 and between ranks 9 and 10 in order to get to the next rank.
• Marie is a romance option. You can choose to stay friends or make her your girlfriend in the rank 9 conversation.

• Choose any dialogue options for this rank; all give the same number of points.

Rank 3

• When Marie asks, “Hey, what do you do in the city?”, choose any answer for +3 friendship.
• When Yukiko says, “Chie, they might already have plans of their own. Don’t just assume they can come along at a moment’s notice.”, pick either choice.
• When Chie is holding a green shirt, respond with any answer.
• When Yukiko has a crimson skirt in her hands, pick any option.
• When Chie asks, “Why don’t we all go together, then? The four of us?”, choose either option.
• When Marie says, “Well… I don’t really know? The meaning of friendship…? Hmm…”, pick either answer.
• When Marie asks, “Huh? Me too?”, tell her “Let’s Hurry.” for +3 friendship.

Rank 4

• When Marie asks, “You don’t get tired of it?”, tell her “It’s fun.” for +3 friendship.
• For the rest of this rank’s dialogue options, say whatever you’d like.

Rank 5

• You’ll need to have Rise in the party to progress to this rank.
• Any choices will do here for dialogue, since all give the same amount of points.
• After this conversation, you’ll need to take Marie out for steak skewers on another afternoon before you can do the rank 6 conversation.

Rank 6

• When Marie asks, “So, about my memories… what do you think I should do?”, choose any answer.
• When she asks, “…will this help?”, ask “Is it sold somewhere?” for +3 friendship points.
• When she asks, “What store around here might deal in old combs like that…?”, take her to Tatsumi Textiles.
• When Rise asks, “Huh? Wait… don’t tell me the two of you are on a date…?”, choose any answer.
• When Kanji asks, “So, what do you want from me? You need me to figure out where this thing came from?”, choose either answer.
• When Marie grimaces, respond with any dialogue option.

Rank 7

• No dialogue offers more points than the other choices, so choose what you want to.

Rank 8

• No rank choices that offer bonus points, so answer however you’d like.

Rank 9

• When Marie says, “I had fun then. Take me there again sometimes, okay?”, give her any answer.
• When Marie asks, “Hey, can we make more? More memories…” say “I’ll help.” for +3 friendship.
• When she asks “…why?”, here’s where you have the option to start her romance arc or continue your friendship.
  • Choose “Because I love you.“ to start her romance.
  • Choose “Because you’re my friend.” to stay just friends.
• If you said “Because I love you.”, Marie will say “…I won’t believe just words.”
  • Hug her to confirm the romance route.
  • Don’t hug her if you accidentally clicked the romance option when you meant to stay friends.
• After this conversation, you will need to spend one more afternoon with Marie before the rank 10 conversation will be available.

Rank 10

If Marie is your girlfriend:

• When Marie is looking around your room, ask if she’s “Bored?” for +3 friendship.
• When Marie says, “Memories so fun, I won’t care about the past any more.”, tell her “Leave it to me.” for +3 friendship.

If Marie is your friend:

• When Marie says “…I wouldn’t have been able to do that on my own. I only realized that because of you.”, tell her “It was fun.” to get +3 friendship.

Upon maxing out Marie’s social link, you’ll get the Bamboo Comb, which will let you fuse Kaguya. You’ll also be able to access the bonus dungeon. Congratulations!
