Opening All 10 Shrines of Depths in Fontaine

Like any good fantasy setting, Genshin Impact‘s world of Teyvat is sprinkled with history, and ancient secrets can be hidden anywhere. Some very valuable sources of treasure are the Shrines of Depths, mysterious structures with Luxurious Chests sealed inside.

Fontaine, the nation of justice, now has 10 shrines for you to find with the 4.6 update; the last two are in the Sea of Bygone Eras. Since Fontaine is also the nation of hydro, some shrines are underwater, but thanks to the special region mechanics, you can dive freely for as long as you want.

Each shrine’s Luxurious Chest contains 40 Primogems, so it’s definitely worth seeking them out. You will also get these achievements from opening Fontaine’s shrines:

• Sanctuary Pilgrim: Land of Harmonious Springs (I) – Unlock all shrines near the Court of Fontaine, Belleau, and Beryl regions.
• Sanctuary Pilgrim: Land of Harmonious Springs (II) – Unlock all shrines near the Liffey region and the research institute.
• Sanctuary Pilgrim: Land of Harmonious Springs (III) – Unlock all shrines near the Morte region and Erinnyes Forest.
• Sanctuary Pilgrim: Rhapsodia in the Ancient Sea – Unlock all the Shrines of Depths in the Nostoi Region and the Sea of Bygone Eras in Fontaine.

Where to Find Shrine of Depths Keys for Fontaine

There are 10 keys available for the ten shrines in-game.

Six of these keys can be obtained by leveling Fontaine’s Statue of the Seven to levels 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10 with Hydroculi found while exploring.

The other four keys are earned by leveling the Fountain of Lucine with Hydro Sigils that you get from treasure chests around the region. You’ll get a new key at levels ending in 8, so level 8, level 18, level 28, and level 38.

Shrine #1: Elton Trench

This Shrine of Depths is at the bottom of Elton Trench. Simply go to the nearest teleport waypoint and swim south, diving deeper as you go.

Shrine #2: Near Elynas

Teleport to the waypoint on top of the mountain at Elynas, then glide southwest and you should see the shrine on a hill near some ruin machines.

Shrine #3: Near the Court of Fontaine

Teleport to the Echoes of the Deep Tides Domain, then walk southeast to find this shrine.

Shrine #4: Near Marcotte Station

This shrine is a somewhat long walk northwest of Marcotte Station. It’s easier to glide down from the top of the nearby mountain and head southwest from the teleport point up there.

Shrine #5: Central Laboratory Ruins

From the Central Laboratory Ruins, head south and dive into the water, and you should run into the shrine while going through the gorge.

Shrine #6: Above the New Fontaine Research Institute

From the teleport waypoint at the New Fontaine Research Institute, head uphill to the northeast, and you’ll see it tucked away on a high cliff.

Shrine #7: Erinnyes Forest

From the teleport waypoint southeast of the big willow tree, turn southwest. You should be able to see the Shrine of Depths right away.

Shrine #8: Loch Urania

This shrine is northeast of Loch Urania, up on a steep hill.

Shrine #9: Near Initium Iani

The ninth shrine is in the west side of Fontaine’s Sea of Bygone eras. Use the teleporter to the right of the words “Initium Iani” on the map. Swim straight up from here to find the Shrine of Depths atop the rocks next to some blue coral.

Shrine of Depths #10: Near Collegium Phonascorum

On the east side of the Sea of Bygone Eras, our tenth and final shrine awaits. Go to the teleporter northeast of the Collegium Phonascorum, and head southwest, swimming a little bit up towards the surface. You should eventually see the shrine on the cliffside.
