Omori key locations

Finding All Of Omori‘s Hangman Keys Is No Easy Task

Omori is a fantastic psychological horror RPG made by Omocat. Its story follows Omori, a quiet, black-and-white boy who lives in a blank white void called Whitespace with only a tissue box, a sketchbook, a computer, a cat, and a mysterious black lightbulb to keep him company. Omori ventures to the colorful world of Headspace to play with his colorful friends, until one of them goes missing. The adventure that follows is full of powerful emotions, more than a few scares, and one of the best explorations of how people deal with grief and trauma I have ever seen in a video game. If you enjoyed Undertale for its wacky cast of characters and moral dilemmas, you will most likely love Omori.

Like any compelling RPG, Omori is full of mysteries. One of the big overarching mysteries of Omori is the hangman puzzle. 26 keys from Omori’s keyboard are scattered all over Headspace, and if you manage to collect them all, let’s just say that something very interesting will happen …

Technically, you only need 12 out of 26 keys to complete the puzzle, but completionists will want to find them all! Some keys are only accessible after a certain choice that locks you into one route, so if you want to find every key, you may need to replay the game a couple of times. Here is a guide to where all of the hangman keys are in Omori.

In the grass near a stump

The Letter “A”

The game gives you your first letter, “A,” as a freebie as soon as you leave the neighbor’s room shortly after finding the Headspace map.

On a shrouded old bridge

The Letter “B”

The letter “B” can be found on the foggy bridge that connects the east and west halves of the Vast Forest.

Between giant pinwheels

The Letter “C”

Once Omori gets over his fear of heights, there are several new areas you can access. One of these areas is the Pinwheel Forest in the clouds. To find it, head south from the playground and then east at the sign. Then, head to the northeast corner of this map to find a long ladder leading up into the sky. The “C” will be sitting on a bench straight ahead.

Near a castoff cartridge

The Letter “D”

The letter “D” can be found in the Junkyard. Head to the large area with lots of tunnels that you reach after Kel uses his throwing ability for the first time. The letter “D” is in the northwest corner, accessible through a tunnel. You will need to switch to Omori, then Aubrey, and then back to Omori to collect this key.

Underneath a wet pillow

The Letter “E”

After battling Space Ex-Boyfriend, collect the “E” from his bed.

Within a large frame

The Letter “F”

This letter is inside the large picture frame in the barn that Shadow Basil leads you to during the prologue after the fight with Captain Space Ex-Boyfriend.

Beneath a trapdoor

The Letter “G”

This letter can only be found on an alternate route when there’s one day left. Go back to the Frozen Lake and look inside the igloo, where you’ll see a trapdoor. Talk to Captain Spaceboy’s dad inside his house, and he’ll give you some batteries. Put the batteries into the plastic fish, and then stand in the summoning circle in the basement.

In a lost pyre’s flame

The Letter “H”

The “H” key is hidden deep within a secret area of the Pyrefly Forest, the Lost Forest. To find it, go to the last room before the long bridge, the same room as the Rare Bear. Go on the path to the southeast, and you will come across an area with five Spidercats. You will have to distract each one by lighting a candle and sneaking past quickly to cut the next web. You’ll need quick reflexes for this, or else you will be caught and have to free your friends to start over at the beginning of the area. Once you are through, you will meet Daddy Longlegs. Follow the paths with the ghost bunnies to head deeper into the Lost Forest, and at the end, you will find the “H” key.

Lying in a dark cell

The Letter “I”

The “I” is located in a cell in the southeast of Sweetheart’s dungeon. To get to it, you’ll need to go down in the lower tunnels and climb up the ladder furthest to the right. You’ll end up in the cell next to it, where you can hit the button on the wall to retract the spikes in front of the cell door.

Trapped in a pink cage

The Letter “J”

In Sweetheart’s Castle, head right when you exit the dungeon area. Go through the big door, and you’ll be in a kitchen where some Sprout Moles try to hire your crew as sous chefs. Ignore this and head to the door straight up. Go down the big red carpet to find a cage with the “J” key floating inside. Switch to Aubrey to smash it open and then back to Omori to claim your prize. By the way, the phrase the French-speaking Sprout Mole near this key is saying translates to “Get out of my room or I’ll call the police!”

In a hall of framed faces

The Letter “K”

The letter “K” sits on a pedestal at the back of Sweetheart’s art gallery in the lower left wing of the castle.

Far below a big stage

The Letter “L”

After you defeat Sweetheart, jump into the pit on stage to enter the Lost Library. The “L” key is on the bottom floor, to the right.

Spending time with a frog

The Letter “M”

The “M” key will be available when there are two days left. You will encounter it during the storyline when you have to go down a well before entering the Last Resort.

Near a game of roulette

The Letter “N”

The N key is also really simple to find; it’s sitting on the floor in the Last Resort’s casino.

Amongst other O’s

The Letter “O”

The “O” is hidden away in the Ghost Party area. To get here, head to the Last Resort. Near the entrance, you will see a pool. Head inside to enter the Ghost Party, and you’ll see the key next to some other rings on the left.

In a water closet

The Letter “P”

The “P” key is in the first-floor men’s bathroom of the Last Resort. Makes sense, right?

In a small moving room

The Letter “Q”

The “Q” key is given to you during the main storyline. You’ll find it in the concierge elevator inside the Last Resort.

At the end of a plank

The Letter “R”

Frustratingly, this key is visible near the start of the game, but you can’t actually reach it until you’re near the end. In the Last Resort, you’ll need to go up to the fourth floor by going through a hole in the first room you find. The fourth floor is under construction, but with Aubrey’s skills, you’ll be able to get up to the “R” key.

Within a live shell

The “S” Key

The “S” key is within a clam to the left of the Toll Gator’s gate in the Underwater Highway. You can either pay 3000 clams to the Toll Gator for a shortcut or take the long way around and save some money.

In a large bubbly tank

The Letter “T”

After you win the battle against Humphrey, when there are two days left, he will puke you up and vomit out the T and W keys.

Surrounded by goo

The Letter “U”

The letter “U” is hidden within a puzzle area inside of Humphrey. You can get to this area by going right on the hub. For the puzzle, you’ll have to navigate your raft through a maze of water currents. Go left twice, and you’ll hit the “U” and knock it down a waterfall on your way.

Captured in a steel trap

The Letter “V”

The “V” key is also in a puzzle area inside Humphrey. Go to the Molly sector and enter the teleporter, and then use an elevator to reach the laboratory. To find the key, you’ll want to take the green teleporter and then use the conveyor belts to reach the V key.

In the gut of a whale

The Letter “W”

The “W” key can be collected at the same time as the “T” key, right after you defeat Humphrey.

At the end of a map

The Letter “X”

The “X” key can be found on the third floor of the Dino Dig. Like a pirate, you’ll have to dig in the bottom right corner of the map to retrieve the key.

In a field of white snow

The Letter “Y”

The “Y” key is only available on an alternate route. It is in the entrance area of Snowglobe Mountain. Leave the igloo, and you’ll find it in the forest next to some snowy pine trees to the northeast.

Past the end of the road

The Letter “Z”

The “Z” key can only be found in an alternate route. To get to the “Z” key, you’ll need to talk to a hitchhiker at the left end of the Underwater highway, down the ladders south of Mari. He will take you to the Abyss. Simply head to the end of the tunnel. If this is the last letter you need, reload your game and head onwards. Enjoy the secrets you’ve unlocked!
