Noelle's Hangout Event: Knightly Exam Prep

As a Good Knight Would

Noelle, the helpful and hardworking maid to the Knights of Favonius, is the first character in Genshin Impact to get two acts in a Hangout Event. This is the second act, continuing from Chivalric Training. To unlock this series of quests, you must first complete all six endings of the first act of Noelle’s hangout and finish the Liyue archon quests. Orange dialogue options are especially important because they denote options that will affect which ending you get.

Although it’s six months away, Noelle is preparing to take her knighthood exams, and she’s been holed up in the library, stewing in her own anxiety. What’s the best way to settle her nerves and get her confidence up? Should you take a trip to Liyue, or have Noelle imitate a successful colleague?

Ending 1: Rest Amidst the Rocks

Let’s start with the first ending.

Levity in Liyue

Take Noelle to Liyue Harbor.
“Well, you do look especially good today.” (Noelle gains +1 heart)
“Some foods here can be eaten without chopsticks. Want to have a look?”
“Understanding the local culture will help you connect with people and learn more.” (+1 heart)
“You can trust me with this.”
Go to Wanmin Restaurant.
“Come on, you can do it!” (+1 heart)
“Your cooking is delicious, too.” (+1 heart)

Liyue Local Weaponry

Go to Hanfeng’s Ironmongers.
“She has her own weapon already, she wouldn’t need to.” (+1 heart)
“The harbor. We may learn something from the Millelith.”

Crook-Catching Commission

Go to the dock and talk to the Millelith soldier.
Next, head to Stone Gate and find the location where you need to stand guard.
Defeat the Treasure Hoarders with Noelle.
“Noelle took care of it all.”
Next, go to the place where Noelle would like to visit.
“Whether in Mondstadt or Liyue, everyone just wants to have a better future.”

Ending 2: “The Maid-Knight’s Tale”

Here are the steps for the second ending.

Take Noelle to Liyue Harbor.

Go to Wanmin Restaurant.

Liyue Local Weaponry

Go to Hanfeng’s Ironmongers.
“She has her own weapon already, she wouldn’t need to.” (+1 heart)
“Let’s head to Third-Round Knockout, then keep exploring.”

Emergency Story-Sourcing

Go to Third-Round Knockout and talk with Iron Tongue Tian.
“Here we go again.”
Go to the hilichurl camp on the city outskirts.
As Noelle, clean up the hilichurl camp by breaking all of the objects.
The hilichurls came back! Defeat them all!
“Is this what you meant by “larger than life”?”
Fight a ruin guard and give a Chaos Device to Iron Tongue Tian. Or, if you already have one from before, simply give him one from your inventory.
Now return to Third-Round Knockout and listen to Tian’s story. At the end, you will earn the “Invulnerable Maid-Knight” achievement.

Ending 3: Perfect Score

Follow these steps to get the third ending.

Can-Do Katheryne

Talk to Katheryne at the Mondstadt Adventurer’s Guild.
“I wasn’t asking for me…”

Adventurer’s Entrance Exam

Next, head to the Angel’s Share and find Cyrus at his table outside. You will first need to pass his verbal exam.
“Windwheel Aster.”
“Roald.”
“Mare Jivari.”
After this, go to Good Hunter for the second part of the exam: cooking.
“Steak.”
Talk to Cyrus and give him the steak.
For the third and final portion of the adventurer’s entrance exam, head to Brightcrown Canyon. You will need to defeat a ruin guard within the time limit. To get the perfect score ending, you will have to succeed in this task.
“I will be there.”

Immaculate Examination

Talk to Cyrus and get the results of the exam.

Ending 4: Points Deducted

Can-Do Katheryne

Talk to Katheryne at the Mondstadt Adventurer’s Guild.
“I meant Noelle…”

Adventurer’s Entrance Exam

Next, head to the Angel’s Share and find Cyrus at his table outside. You will first need to pass his verbal exam.
“Windwheel Aster.”
“Roald.”
“Mare Jivari.”
After this, go to Good Hunter for the second part of the exam: cooking.
Choose either “Mondstadt Grilled Fish” or “Steak.”
Talk to Cyrus and give him the food.
For the third and final portion of the adventurer’s entrance exam, head to Brightcrown Canyon. You will need to defeat a ruin guard within the time limit. To get the imperfect score ending, you would have to fail this task if you gave Cyrus steak or pass this task if you gave him grilled fish.
If you succeed in the third task: “I will be there.” If you failed: “It’s because you were too fixated on the formality of the exam…”

Imperfect Examination

Talk to Cyrus and get the results of the exam.
Afterwards, find Noelle in the library, and read her study notes to get the “Mondstadt’s Note-Taker General” achievement.

Ending 5: The One and Only Noelle

Take this route for the fifth ending.

“If you can perform the duty of a qualified knight, then you might feel more confident about the exam.”

Outrider 101

Pick valberries in the Stormbearer Mountains with Noelle.
Defeat 4 pyro slimes and take their slime condensate.
Head to the hilichurl camp and put the Baron Bunny down.
Fight the hilichurls that appear.
“You could become an Acting Grand Master, like Jean.”
“Jean often helps out the locals around town.”

In the Master’s Image

Go to Mondstadt’s gate.
“With people calling on the knights for so many things, it’s no wonder Jean is so busy…”
Investigate the missing monocle and the strange flapping sound. Talk to the locals for more information if you would like.
Climb onto the rooftops and search for a finch nest. One will have the missing monocle in it. Once you have the right one, climb down with your prize and talk to Marjorie.

Ending 6: Work Made for a Maid

Finally, here’s how to get the sixth ending.

Outrider 101

Pick valberries in the Stormbearer Mountains with Noelle.
Defeat 4 pyro slimes and take their slime condensate.
Head to the hilichurl camp and put the Baron Bunny down.
Fight the hilichurls that appear.
“You could become a Cavalry Captain, like Kaeya.”
“Kaeya doesn’t spend every second of every day on making big plans.”

Copying the Cavalry Captain

Go to the Angel’s Share to gather intel, Kaeya-style.
Talk to Charles.
Serve Payne a Death After Noon.
“How are we supposed to get any intel out of this guy?”
“You could just listen in on their conversations instead.”
Go to the second floor and clear off the tables.
Go downstairs and talk to Charles again.
“You are looking after Mondstadt in your own way.”
“It’s the same with an exam. Just aim to do well in the things you’re good at.”
“Who needs to be taken home?”
