Chongyun: The Exorcist With Excess Yang Energy

Genshin Impact‘s hangout events are a great way to learn more about your characters; they work like a visual novel with different dialogue options. Important dialogue options that put you on a different route will be marked in orange. To unlock Chongyun’s hangout event, you will need to finish the Mondstadt archon quest, reach adventure rank 26, and use two story keys.

Chongyun is a 4-star Cryo character who wields a claymore. He’s from a prominent exorcist family in Liyue, but he hasn’t found any ghosts yet himself, because he was born with an excess amount of yang energy. His high levels of yang energy make him shine like a beacon, which alerts ghosts from far away.

To keep his yang energy under control, Chongyun only eats cold food like popsicles and tries to avoid situations where he’ll become emotional. Chongyun is normally solemn and reserved, but once his yang energy is activated, he becomes the life of the party or a terrifying force of nature. In an incident that he will never live down, Chongyun jumped on stage at one of Xinyan’s rock concerts and began singing along because he couldn’t handle the energy of the crowd! Can you help Chongyun reach his goal of being a great exorcist and manage his yang energy, or will you get into wacky mishaps and knock the poor guy out in the street? It all depends on your choices!

“There’s a ghostly shadow skulking about Feiyun Slope at night. It’s suspected to be a vengeful spirit.”
“Deep in the Sea of Clouds, a marauding demon has been raiding commercial fishing boats and building a luxurious palace.”
“There is a vigilant demon adept at concealing itself in mist. Recently, people have found traces of it in Mingyun Village, Guili Plains, and Yaoguang Shoal.”
”Such… enviable friendship.”

You should have now earned the achievement “Behold, Mine Evil-Espying Eye!” along with 5 primogems. Giving the wrong quiz answers will make you lose hearts, and with too many wrong answers the hangout ends, so make sure you pick the choices above.

Quest: The Rumored Heretical Ground

Examine the strange smoke.

“You’re very thorough.”
Examine the strange smoke and fight off the hilichurls.

Find Dalong. He’s behind a crate behind the building you start playing hide and seek at.
Find Little Le. She’s hiding behind the tree next to the teleport waypoint.
Find Chongyun. He’s down the stairs next to the bridge.
“It’s only your first time.”
“But you can easily be seen here.”
“Maybe we could play it together again sometime.”
“It’s your time to shine! I’ll help prepare the ingredients.”
Give Chongyun the ingredients for Cold Noodles With Mountain Delicacies: 3 mushrooms, 2 raw meat chunks, and 2 bags of flour.
